According to research conducted by Convinceandconvert.com, 33% of email recipients open an email based on the subject alone.
Yet Chadwick Martin Bailey’s research found that 64% of people who open an email, do so because of the subject line.
Wow… That’s monumental. But, there’s more:
- 44% of email recipients make a minimum of one purchase based on a promotion email every year
- Email subject lines with fewer than 10 characters have an average open rate of 58%
- B2B companies experienced higher open rates of promotional emails when their subject line contains the words “money”, “profit” or “revenue”
- Personalised subject lines are 22.2% more likely to be opened
