Blogging is so prevalent today that it is easy to forget how recent a phenomenon it is. The term “blog” was coined in 1999 when web logs were in their infancy. Since then they have grown rapidly in popularity to reach the status they have today, and are now considered to be an essential part of the marketing strategy for almost any small to medium business, and increasingly for large corporations too. Global giants Exxon and Walmart are among some of the Fortune 500 companies who use blogging as part of their marketing strategy. For B2B marketing, blogs are the third most widely used form of content marketing (following other forms of social media and articles). It is not without good reason that blogs have enjoyed such a rapid rate of success.
