Our Blog Wasn’t Cutting It – Here’s What We Changed

If you’re reading this right now (and probability says you are), you likely notice that our blog landscape looks a little different. Gone is the scrolling bar in the header of the Infusionsoft blog; of days past is the separate Big Ideas blog. Things look different.

Thank you for noticing.

We’ve done a lot of work on this newest iteration of our blog, and we’ve done it not out of vanity, but out of a desire to serve you better in content and user experience. Let me take you on a little tour of where things are going and why we’ve done what we have.

We – and our content – will be better

The most important change to our blog is not about the logistics or the aesthetics, but that our content is about to get a notable (but gradual) upgrade. You may have noticed that for the past year, we haven’t been doing so hot in the blogging category. This is completely our fault. We weren’t looking at the data (or if we were, we weren’t doing anything about it). This is perhaps the biggest no-no in the blogging galaxy, and one that has been rectified already.

We made some other mistakes, but they were in line with what was ultimately a good vision we couldn’t – or didn’t – carry out. For a start, in trying to improve the quality of our content we started posting less. Instead of a post at least every day (and it was often more than that), we scaled back to three posts a week. Accordingly, our traffic took a nosedive.
