With the absence of Google’s Matt Cutts (who is on an extended holiday) to give us the lowdown on SEO and with varying opinions about the effects of the new Google update Penguin we thought we’d just keep to the basics and give you some easy SEO tips for your website or your blog posts, that you can do at home.
Great content for your website
Most importantly you need great content; great content by itself probably won’t get to you to page 1 of Google but with content exposure and some great links plus these top tips, you have a very good chance of being found on search engines, which is the aim here, right?
No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google… Quote from Google support and they should know. Don’t fall for these scams out there telling that they can do that for you.
Long Tail Keywords
Use familiar search terms for your keywords (in a string of three word at least) otherwise known as long-tail keywords this is one of the most important parts of SEO on your website.
There are many ways to find these – such as Google adwords, Keyword Planner
Long-tail keywords are the most valuable keywords if you want to rank in Google searches, and they will find your specific customers.
Do not keyword stuff, that trick has gone and may harm your website.
Here are our top 5 Easy SEO tips for your website
1 – Make sure you remove all small words from the URL/Permalink such as, a, and, the and include your long tail keyword.
2 – You need a catchy title, which includes your long-tail keyword

3 – Alt tag – when you add an image like we did above, make sure you include your long-tail keyword in the alt tag section.
4 – Tags – don’t get carried away adding hundreds of tags for your post – just use the long-tail keyword and make sure you add a description for this.
5 – Use as many of the headings as you can and try to include… yes you guessed it, your long-tail keyword. In the other headings use a variation of those words if you can.
